- What: Maureen White’s KARAOKE FOR KATHY!
- When: Thursday June 5, 7:30 – 10:30 pm
- Where: Iggy’s, 2nd Avenue between 75th and 76th streets
From Maureen: I am gearing up for the New York City triathlon again this year and want to have fun while fulfilling my fundraising obligation for New York City’s Chapter of Team in Training. Team in Training is this fantastic organization that trains people for endurance events in exchange for fundraising for blood cancer research.
The wanting to have fun part is where you come in. karaoke + open bar + friends = Fun!
This year is very special because I am honoring the one and only Kathy McBeth; friend, mother, wife, aunt, sister, daughter, blood cancer survivor, cancer patient counselor, dog lover, snow shoe-ing maniac, unofficial grand dame of Stowe, Vermont and all around remarkable woman. If you know her, it is hard to image the world without her. So please come and sing your heart out in her honor!
There will be lots of fun people, an open bar (did I mention that earlier?) and even a few enticing raffle prizes. Think of this post-memorial day gala as your REAL kick-off to summer! No, you do not have to sing, but yes, you do have to show up and give Kathy a hug, even if you don’t know her.
Please spread the word…all are welcome. More info will come later, but here are the basics.

Upcoming March Fundraisers
If you’re new to TNT, you’ll soon discover a fun way to kill two birds with one stone — to raise some funds for the LLS and party with your friends at the same time. Fundraising events can range from simply raising awareness about your cause to generating a significant amount of funds. If you come to one of the upcoming fundraising clinics in Manhattan or Brooklyn, we will give you tips and resources for planning a fundraiser.
In the meantime, you can take notes from your fellow teammates who are already in full-swing with their events. I will list events as they’re sent to us, so if you’re planning one, please let us know!
If you’re a past TNT participant, you may have tips for those who are planning their first event. Don’t be shy – share your ideas in the comments section!
